Lumina- IPL

IPL- Hair removal.

Our Lumina machine does many magical procedures; I bet you didn’t know that it is the world’s first IPL device, that uses dynamic reflex technology for comfortable and effective hair removal?

Not all IPLs are created equal.

IPL is a technology that used light to attract to different chromophores hence specifically targeting the specified are; in this case that would be melanin. Machines can be purchased for a couple of thousand to the tens of thousands of pounds; and there is good reason for this. The gold standard in hair removal treatment is Alexandrite laser (all manufactured by Lynton). However this is where we would then be limited to only treating black hair on white skin. Lynton’s Lumina can treat different hair colour’s on different skin tones! And its outcomes are comparable to the Alexandrite, Lynton have studies to prove this!

  • It has proven safety record.
  • Suitable for dense, coarse hair.
  • Effective results for range of skin types.

How does light-assisted hair removal work?

The light is emitted by the device and is absorbed by melanin within the hair. This is then converted into heat energy, damaging the hair follicle.

Who is suitable for the treatment?

Most people are suitable for treatment. We recommend a consultation with your clinician/ laser specialist to ascertain if the treatment will be successful for you. Grey/white hair has no melanin so it not recommended for treatment.

What does the treatment feel like?

Treatment sensation varies but you can feel what is described as the ‘hot flick’ of an elastic band treatment. However, thanks to dynamic reflex technology, most clients describe the discomfort as moderate and tolerable.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies from client to client and is dependent on many factors.

Results can be seen after just a few treatments. However, we do say a minimum of 6 and up to 12 treatments are recommended to deliver the best results. We also recommend with keeping to your scheduled appointments to maximise your results per treatment.
