Nose Shape

Sometimes we can have dissatisfaction with the shape of our noses. Most often people complain of this when looking at photographs of themselves.

This can range from

Having a flat nose

A  down turned tip of the nose

A dorsal hump

Surgical Rhinoplasty has for a long time been the only corrective measure – however it is invasive, very risky and doesn’t have the high satisfaction ratio that one might expect. Furthermore, it is permanent. Should you not be happy with your new nose- further surgery may be the only answer and this means more risk and eventually you will have limited tissue to work with.

Luckily we now have new options!

Dermal fillers

Known as Non-surgical Rhinoplasty. For some cases it may be suitable to use a good quality dermal filler to “shape the nose” and correct some irregularities. By strategically placing dermal filler we can give the illusion of a straight nose, one that is slimmer, and change the tips projection. Even more interestingly, adding dermal filler can be used to make a larger nose appear smaller!

While this procedure is not risk free – it does carry significantly lower risks than surgical rhinoplasty and more importantly can be reversed.

Muscle relaxing Injections

In some cases relaxing muscles associated with nose may also be used as a strategy to lift your tip especially if your tip moves when your speak.

Not all noses are suitable to have these procedures.
