Microsclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating superficial telangiectasia of the legs, commonly known as thread veins. The thread veins are treated by injecting a solution called a sclerosing agent into the veins, which causes them to shrink and eventually disappear. Microsclerotherapy has been safely and effectively performed since the 1920s.
The treatment is a prescription only treatment and therefore will require a face to face consultation first. This will enable the clinician to assess suitability for this procedure, determine the cause of your thread veins and give advice how to prevent recurrence.

Microsclerotherapy can only be used on the legs – however there are multiple other treatment options – so please feel free to book a consultation to discuss your concerns.
Microsclerotherapy can only be used to treat smaller vessels – larger or varicose veins will require sclerotherapy which is usually performed by a vascular surgeon.
