Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Did you know?

Fine lines are usually the first signs of aging. As the aging process begins, we find the fine lines will start around the eyes (commonly known as crow’s feet) and around your mouth (smile and laughter lines), between your brows (Frown lines) and on your forehead.

Fines lines and Wrinkles are caused when there is breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin, tightening of the muscles with use over time. Collagen and elastin are the vital compounds that support the structure of your skin, and once these fibers start to breakdown that is when the skin loses its strength and elastin, the lines caused by muscle tightening can only be resolved by inducing relaxation of those muscles.

The body naturally production of collagen starts decrease from the age of 25 & even more so after you begin menopause. On top of this oxidative stress caused by toxins such as smoking and air pollutants, diet and excessive sun exposure further speed up the aging process.

How can you treat fine lines and wrinkles?

Relaxing the muscles of the face in certain areas of the face can reduce the tension in the muscles and as a result soften the face and reduce or even resolve some fine lines and wrinkles. Common areas to treat are frown lines, forehead, crows feet & lip lines – however there are many other uses for such a treatment. The use of such products are subject to a consultation – as prescription only treatments, your practitioner must determine your suitability and if this is the right treatment to suit your objectives.

Exlinear Peptide Smoothing Serum

Nicknamed “Botox in a bottle”, this peptide spot treatment serum minimizes the appearance of expression lines and hydrates, smooths and firms aging skin.

  • Minimizes the appearance of expression lines due to repeated facial muscle movements
  • Firms, tightens and strengthens aging skin

Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are particularly helpful for the very slim or slightly older person – as the skin starts to lose collagen the structure is weaker and the skin can crease or fold on movement – a little plumping can go a long way to provide that resistance and youthful glow. Skin boosters use a mixture of hyaluronic acid and glycerol injected just blow the skin to moisturise & plump from within.

Radio Frequency Micro-needling

Known as the “Judy Murray Treatment”, this is a firm favourite for those who want incredible plumping effect -combining microneedling with radiofrequency energy to plump up the skin and provide that youthful appearance without the need for any products being injected into the body. It most certainly is one of my favourites and i believe is a great way of keeping people looking very natural as a base treatment prior to using dermal fillers. Targeted depths means we can focus on all aspects of the cause of the lines.

Fractional Laser ResurFace

This outstanding treatment is amazing for those with textured skin, resurfacing and plumping together literally turns back the hands of time. Again – I love this as a combo treatment with muscle relaxing injections – because as the skin regenerates without the tension – mind blowing results can be achieved
