Unsure about a consultation?
It may have been on your mind for some time, but you have not booked in for a consultation – and there is likely a number of reasons for this. These are generally due to myths or issues of old (that have changed now technology has). Let’s try to resolve a few of your concerns:
Which permanent hair removal is best for me?
Laser hair removal typically works on white skin and balck hair – that is why Holly has chosen to use the highest grade IPL on the market. This way we can treat different coloured hair on different coloured skin! The Lumina is a Lynton British manufactured machine and results are comparable to the Alexandrite (Gold standard – that only treats black hair on white skin)- which is also manufacture and clinical study performed by Lynton! Which is great news
For white or very blond hair, we would chose Electrolysis, this is because IPL requires pigment in the hair for the treatment to be successful using this method.
For people who suffer with PCOS or Hirsutism there may be more success with electrolysis especially on the face, though either methods will require a higher number of treatments.
Electrolysis would also be recommended for:
a small number of hairs
precision treatments like under and between the brow
velous hair (that fine fuzz on your face)
People who are unable to adhere to the strict sun avoidance required for IPL
Is IPL painful?
IPL is surprisingly comfortable! having has a treatment myself 5 years ago – i was blown away by how much more comfortable it is nowerdays – and more effective! Intimate areas are more uncomfortable as those areas are much more sensitive – however definitely no worse than a wax and you would need 6-8 sessions (with occasional maintenance) rather than a life long commitment. Another bonus is that as the hair follicles become weakened the treatments become less uncomfortable even in these areas.
I heard IPL is really expensive?
Things have changed a lot! I mean if you want your enitre body hair free you may need to get saving a smidge however, large areas can take advantage of large deals!
Generally it is much cheaper than you imagine – and will save you time and money of future waxing appointments. If you buy the course you can save 20%.

When is Best to Start my IPL hair removal treatment?
Ideally between 6-8 treatments are needed for most people depending where is being treated and the individual client. During the treatments, you will need to avoid active sun tab (4 weeks), sun beds, or fake tan. Because of these factors it is my opinion that for most people this is best started in September. Dont forget to stop waxing or epilation during and before treatments – that hair shaft needs to be in the folicle for this to work!
you can shave and are asked to ensure you have shaved on the day of the treatment. See info and aftercare for more details
