ResurFace – Fractional Laser

The Award winning Lynton Laser ResurFACE is one of our most popular skin treatments that gives total rejuvenation to give the skin a firm, smooth, youthful and glowing appearance.
The Photo below shows sun damaged skin and neurotoxin alone could not resolve this because the problem was not just muscular activity but damage within the skin itself. The result is 6 months after 1 Fractional laser & 1 X neurotoxin (botox)

How does fractional laser work?
Minute sections of the skin are targeted with laser light, which penetrates into the tissue, causing small columns of thermal damage which in turn stimulates significant collagen renewal. The surrounding non affected areas of the skin aid the body’s natural recovery process, allowing dramatic results without significant down time

This treatment is suitable for all skin types, and even possible if you have a tan or have used fake tan – that is because the laser targets water in your skin and not melanin. You will however have to wait for two weeks post any other procedure and temporarily stop using rentinol and possible some other skin treatments – I will discuss this further in your consultation
Will I be Suitable for fractional laser?
This treatment is suitable for all skin types, that is because the laser targets water in your skin and not melanin. You will however have to wait for two weeks post any other procedure and temporarily stop using rentinol and possible some other skin treatments. Avoiding active sun exposure pre and post treatment reduces risk of hyperpigmentation– I will discuss this further in your consultation.
Is fractional laser painful?
You should arrive without make up. Your face will be cleansed prior to treatment. The hand piece will be moved over the skin delivering microscopic beams. Treatment times can vary depending on area being treated. The treatment it self is surprisingly not painful, though for deeper treatments you may feel a mild discomfort. Afterwards the skin can get quite hot & feel a little like sunburn, at this time we cool your skin while you relax. A sensation of a sunburn will continue for the next 24 hours and usually resolved after that.
What are the risks or down time for fractional laser?
This is NOT CO2 Fractional laser which carries a much more significant down time – and you may have scared yourself looking on the internet at some photos. Fractional Laser resurFace is a much more gentle yet incredibly effective approach.
You will experience a mild sunburnt sensation for a few hours after the treatment and skin may be red for 1-2 days. This is a normal sign that the skin is healing to a deeper level. Swelling is likely but minimal and resolves after 1-3 days, As your skin heals you may develop a bronzed appearance and then at 7-10 days your skin will flake of naturally as if you had a tan.
Unwanted effects are rare but can include a small blister or temporary change to skin pigmentation – such as darkening.
You will be patch tested prior to your treatment. and your suitability to have this treatment will be determined during consultation. Darker skin types may be advised to have pigment reducing home care though out their course.
