Dermatosa Papulosa Nigra are small brown or black raised areas of skin that affect one third of people with Fitzpatrick skin types 5 and 6.

Cause
In many cases, Dermatosa Papulosa Nigra is a genetic condition that appears on the face, upper cheeks and temples, eyes and chest and increases with age. While Dermatosa Papulosa Nigra does not pose a threat to your health, it can have an impact on your self confidence and mental well being.
Treatment
The tip of a small probe (about the size of an eye lash) is used to tickle the surface of the DPN causing dehydration and crusting. A mild stinging sensation may be felt as the DPN is treated.
Following Treatment
You may experience a slight reddening and / or swelling or the skin in the area
Warmth in the area that has been treated
The appearance of the DPN may change, it will be smaller, more dehydrrated and crusty. A crust will form which will naturally fall away.
The skin may feel itchy as the healing process takes place
